RESOURCES

Epilepsy Waterloo-Wellington offers a variety of resources, programs, and services to the community:

SUPPORT & COUNSELLING

Support Groups
We are currently offering support groups in Kitchener and Guelph. The support groups take place once per month, from September to June. We have adult support groups in Kitchener and Guelph, and a parent and child support group in Kitchener. Please see our Events page for upcoming support group dates.

One-on-one Counselling
At our Kitchener office, we offer individual counselling with a MSW counsellor. Please call our office for more information.

Connect
Our organization can help connect people whose lives are affected by epilepsy (or have an interest in it, or knowledge to share about it) via support groups, meetings, our newsletter, Twitter page, Facebook group, blog, and events.

EDUCATION & AWARENESS

Resource Centre
Our resource centre offers members a variety of pamphlets, books, articles, magazines, and videos to learn more about the various aspects of epilepsy. There is also a computer with internet access available to seek online information about epilepsy. The resource centre is open during regular office hours, from 9:00 am to 2:30pm from Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; however, it is best to phone ahead.

Educational Presentations
Epilepsy Waterloo-Wellington offers tailored educational presentations to schools, businesses, community groups, and the general public about epilepsy. Please contact us to arrange for this.

Our Website
It is our goal that this website will serve as starting point and educational tool for the community when it comes to information about epilepsy, but also as a way to build awareness about epilepsy.

Lectures and Speakers
Throughout the year, we offer lectures and guest speakers on the subject of epilepsy. Please keep an eye on our News & Events page for upcoming speakers, lectures, or information sessions.

Awareness Activities
We are committed to building public awareness about epilepsy as a health condition and decreasing stigma surrounding it. We work to achieve this goal in various ways, including selling lavender awareness bracelets and pins, supporting and promoting Epilepsy Awareness Month (March), and making information about epilepsy available to the public.

OTHER COMMUNITY RESOURCES

If we do not have the support or service you require, we will work with you to find what you need in the community and direct you to the appropriate next-step service.
