Board Members
JOHN STEINBERG

John Steinberg is a lifelong resident of Kitchener Waterloo who is enjoying the opportunity to give back to the community by volunteering with Epilepsy Waterloo Wellington. He is a Logistics Professional who works for a large International Medical Company. John has served on other local boards and brings that experience to assist EWW move forward and provide meaningful programs to our region. John and his wife Sherrie have 5 children and 8 grandchildren.
VALERIE HUSZARIK

Valerie Huszarik joined the board in February 2011 and has had much joy in planning and participating in fundraising events for Epilepsy Waterloo-Wellington. Valerie has been in the Kitchener/Waterloo community since 2002 while attending the University of Waterloo for her Bachelor of Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science. She also completed her Bachelor of Education at Queen’s University and taught for a number of years after graduation including a year at Kasabonika Lake, an Indian reservation in Northern Ontario. Valerie now works part-time for an electrical and mechanical engineering office as their bookkeeper/administrator in Waterloo. She was drawn into EWW when meeting a board member at a women’s bible study at their local church. She had been looking for an avenue to use her skills in event planning and financial administration and found the perfect fit with EWW. Valerie and her husband Greg live in Kitchener with her souvenir from Kasabonika Lake, her dog Aqun.
STEVE CARON

Steve Caron has resided in Waterloo since his early days growing up in Waterloo Park where his family lived in what is currently the potter’s workshop. Steve joined Epilepsy Waterloo-Wellington because Waterloo has given him so much over the years and he feels it is important to always be involved in helping people and thereby give back to the community. As a Human Resources Professional, he brings to the board the ability to develop and work with people. Steve has four children, one and one half grandchildren and three motor cycles.
LEE SMITH

Lee Smith is a resident of Kitchener-Waterloo and a Logistics Professional who works for a worldwide electronics company. Lee and his wife Anne have 4 wonderful children with one child diagnosed with Rolondic Epilepsy. This is Lee's first active Board service and he is excited to give back to his community.
SCOTT WASHINGTON

Scott Washington has lived in the Waterloo Region for over 16 years. Having actively volunteered his time with various organizations including the Optimist Club, Wellesley Minor Soccer and World Bicycle Relief, Scott is excited to make a contribution to the growth and development of Epilepsy Waterloo-Wellington. Scott is Director of Sales and Marketing for a Mississauga based transportation company which specializes in servicing the North American medical and healthcare markets. Scott currently resides in Wellesley with his wife, Julie and their two kids.
